Tyler Bailey Design Studio [Atlanta, GA]

In anticipation of Tyler Bailey’s Shoe and Fashion Show in Mobile on November 11, 2012, I had to take a moment to find out what’s in the next chapter for the designer, who is quickly rising as a recognizable name among socialites and celebrities.  Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Bailey is no stranger to progression and forward thinking when it comes to fashion and business.  I’m elated to be the official host for the event, and only hope that I can contribute to his movement.

A King of Soles: Tyler Bailey

First and foremost, Hartzog-Bagsby Consulting is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you! From where do you draw inspiration when you’re creating your designs?

I draw inspiration from a number of things. My worldly travels over the past 13 years; Different architecture and room decor; different personalities of women that I meet; just a number of things!

I recently saw some Tyler Bailey Design Studio design images, including a studded handbag.  What are your plans for line expansion?

Our plans for line expansion have started with securing a relationship with an Italian manufacture. To insure the best quality of our products. The next plan is the launching of our Tyler Bailey showroom in Atlanta’s upcoming luxury shopping district. And lastly we have been getting a great response from major luxury store buyers. So securing those deals are also in our plans of expansion as well.

Some influential socialites have worn Tyler Bailey Shoes within the last year.  What’s been your most successful marketing tactic to gain recognition by the right people?

Our most successful marketing tactic has been word of mouth. You would not believe the list of “A list” celebrities that are waiting on the official Tyler Bailey collection just by word of mouth. Once we launch, you will start seeing our shoes appearing on some of your favorite T.V shows, high profile red carpets, and up coming movies that we have been confirmed for.

What made you decide to do a show in Mobile?  Do you anticipate any other events within the next six months, in the Southeast or elsewhere?

I decided to do a show in Mobile, because it is my hometown. I wanted to inspire the other inspiring designers. As well as the inspiring models, stylist, MUA, or anyone with a dream, no matter what is! I also wanted to do something positive there. In which we are giving back to the Penelope House. To support the efforts of ending violence against women and children. Something that I am very passionate about!  We have a host of events that we will be involved with. You can get those updates via Twitter @itstylerbailey, or Instagram @shoedesigner

What can we expect next from Tyler Bailey Design Studio?

What you can expect next from Tyler Bailey is the official launching and global expansion of the brand. A brand that started with the spark of a dream, fueled by faith, and driven by the grace if God!

Karen Gillian featured in Oculus Film [Intrepid Pictures]

Carlisha Bagsby on set with Karen Gillan

It was a pleasure to be a stand in during the filming of Oculus, which is being produced by Intrepid Pictures of Santa Monica, California.  The company is also responsible for the blockbuster thriller Safe House, which featured Denzel Washington earlier in 2012.

Scottish actress Karen Gillan [Doctor Who, British Sci-Fi program featured by the BBC] was on set and as easy going and pretty as could be.  The film is schedule to be released in 2014.  A special thanks to the crew from Santa Monica who was quite accommodating and wonderful to work with.

Fall Must Have: Prints

Prints make their reappearance in the fashion life cycle quite often, and this season is no exception. If you haven’t seen it already, prints, specifically animal prints, are everywhere for the Fall. Clutches, shoes, leg wear and form fitting dresses are the perfect way to infuse the trend into your wardrobe.

Out of the box tip: Use a print, such as a brown/deep yellow leopard print item as an unlikely “neutral” when creating your palette and build around it. You will be amazed at what you can come up with.

Look of the Day: Beyoncé- Fabulous @ the Barclays Center [Brooklyn]

Beyoncé appears as a surprise guest during Jay-Z’s last performance at the Brooklyn Barclays Center on October 6th.  Even post-baby, she is still as wonderfully fabulous as she has ever been.  Dressed quite chic and appropriately (and somewhat matching Mr. Carter) Beyoncé donned leather shorts with a long sleeve leather and knit top.  With natural makeup and golden blonde tresses, her look screamed fierce, but not overdone.  Perfectly paired:  the over the knee leather wedge boots that she ferociously performed in.  Once again, she proves that she is a fashion icon to be reckoned with.
